Our sleeping conditions were rustic to say the least. Sleeping with a true nomadic family made us both really appreciated the life these people are living.
Our guide, Penzhok, is a 43 year old man, with a smile that never disappears, walks easily 14 hours a day at altitudes above 4000 meter, with only a bowl of rice and yak tea in the morning and rice and potatoes in the evening for dinner. Our western bodies are not accustomed to this so we had a mentally and physically challenging day ahead of us. Thankfully the awesome scenery made us forget about the little pains and made this an experience to never forget.
